Penn Foundation Launches New Outpatient Detox Program

Penn Foundation is pleased to announce that it has launched an Outpatient Detox Program, a new service to help individuals safely and comfortably begin their recovery journey. This program will allow individuals to withdraw from opiates, benzodiazepines, and/or alcohol in the comfort of their own home while under the careful supervision of Penn Foundation’s licensed staff.

“We are pleased to begin offering our detox services in an outpatient setting,” said Julie Williams, LPC, Director of Clinical Services. “Not everyone is comfortable entering an inpatient unit to begin treatment. This new service removes that barrier and allows us to meet clients where they are to help them begin their recovery journey.”

Individuals seeking outpatient detox treatment will first be assessed to make sure it is safe to treat them through this service. Then, a detox plan will be developed based on the individual’s unique medical history and current physical health. During the detox process, Penn Foundation’s nursing staff will provide induction and monitoring of withdrawal medication as necessary.

“Withdrawal from substance use can be painful,” adds Williams. “Our goal is to do all we can to ensure a comfortable and therapeutic experience that prepares the client to move on to the next level of treatment.”
