According to Psychology Today, 1-in-5 children grow up in a home where a parent abuses drugs or alcohol. This can create poor self-image, loneliness, guilt, anxiety, feelings of helplessness, fear of abandonment, and depression in children. These children are at a greater risk for behavioral/emotional problems and are four times more likely to develop their own addiction.
Camp Crossroads aims to break this cycle of addiction by teaching children coping skills that build resiliency and confidence to make healthy life choices. The goal of camp is to reduce feelings of fear, guilt, isolation, loneliness, and helplessness and help campers understand that addiction is a disease, it impacts the entire family, and it is not their fault.
Campers can expect a fun, memorable weekend that includes:
- A supportive, educational environment in which they can learn and grow together under the guidance of select mentors
- Traditional camp activities (such as a climbing wall, fishing, hiking, swimming, and more!) and therapeutic group activities (psychoeducation groups)
- New friendships with other campers who have similar life experiences

All camp weekends are held at Camp Men-O-Lan in Quakertown.
